SMAT- SMUDE Management Aptitude Test for MBA Admission

CIRCULAR

The Directorate of Distance Education, Sikkim Manipal University would henceforth be conducting an Entrance Test (SMAT- SMUDE Management Aptitude Test) for admission to its MBA program. All eligible candidates are required to take the SMAT and secure a minimum forty percent mark for admission to the MBA program.
It is hereby further notified that candidates who have already thus qualified through similar Entrance examination conducted by any other competent body or through other exemption criteria in this behalf may apply for admission directly. (Refer Annexure 1 & 2 for the Exemption Norms and List of International, National and State Management Entrance Exams whose scores are recognized for admissions into SMU-DE MBA Programs)

Exemption Norms

Students meeting any of the following criteria will be exempt from taking the SMAT and may apply for admission directly to the MBA program
  • Candidates with supervisory experience of 3 years or more
  • Candidates with a minimum percentile score of Forty from a similar Entrance exam, whose result has been declared not earlier than one year
  • GMAT score above 400
  • Candidates with a minimum score of 60% or equivalent at the Graduate level.

MAH CET – Maharashtra Common Entrance Test
RMAT – Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test
TANCET – Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test Exam
UPMCAT – Uttar Pradesh Management Common Aptitude Test
PMET – Punjab Management Entrance Test
KMAT – Karnataka Management Admission Test
ICET – Integrated Common Entrance Test – Andhra Pradesh
GCET – Gujarat Common Entrance Test
MPMET – Madhya Pradesh Management Entrance Test
BCECE – Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam
OJEE – Orissa Joint Entrance Examination
West Bengal JEMAT (Joint Entrance for Management Aptitude Test).

 

The above list of Entrance exams is not exhaustive. Candidates who have successfully obtained a minimum percentile of Forty in any other similar Entrance exam to qualify for a UGC approved MBA Program may also apply for exemption from the SMAT. The decision for exemption lies with the University.
